2019 has been yet another fantastic year of progression for the fishery with some notable highlights to mention. The year started with the netting of 5 of the 7 lakes of which helped us keep up to date with our stocks and assess the lakes moving forward. It really was wonderful to see our heavyweights come out in tip top condition and plenty of smaller fish coming along well.

Moving on to May with special guest Julian Cundiff our ‘Family Fishing Fun Day’ saw footfall of over 1000 visitors across the day and not only brought the local fishing community together but also saw hundreds of new families participate in the sport for the first time.

September saw some fish stocks moved from lake 4 to maintain healthy oxygen levels in the lake and see the stock maturing.

In October we launched our first winter coaching session during half term that was attended by over 30 children, with some learning to fish for the very first time. The sessions were just over two hours long and led by two level 2 approved angling coaches plus some kind volunteers from the Seven Lakes team. We will be running more coaching sessions in April next year so look out for those!

To finish the year in style our new heavyweight mirror carp ‘Ollie’ was introduced to lake 6 of whom weighed in at 30lb and is the new jewel in the crown of the Seven Lakes stock.
